Tessiture
En musique, la tessiture d'une voix ou d'un instrument désigne l'ensemble des notes qu’un musicien, chanteur ou instrumentiste, est capable d'émettre facilement, depuis le grave, jusqu'à l'aigu. La tessiture et le timbre servent à classer les voix et certains instruments par catégories ou familles.
- Le mot « tessiture » doit être soigneusement distingué du mot ambitus, qui lui, désigne l'étendue totale (tessiture plus notes extrêmes) d'une voix, d'un instrument ou d'une partie musicale.
