Linspire, autrefois connu sous le nom de LindowsOS ou tout simplement Lindows est un système de distribution Linux crée par Michael Robertson (le créateur de l'ancien site MP3.com) qui est basé sur Debian. Microsoft a déposé une poursuite contre Lindows à propos de l'utilisation d'un terme trop proche du mot « Windows ». Un juge avait donné raison à Lindows mais Microsoft va porter la cause en appel.
Toutefois, par précaution contre d'éventuelles autres poursuites judiciaires émanant de Microsoft, les concepteurs ont choisi de le rebaptiser Linspire. Linspire peut utiliser certaines applications Windows, à l'aide de WINE.
