Jet2.com is a trading name of Channel Express (Air Services) Ltd which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Dart Group PLC. Dart Group PLC is an aviation services and distribution group whose shares have been quoted on the London Stock Market since 1988. Dart Group’s annual sales are around £200m (€280m) with net assets of £41m (€57m).

Jet2.com is a trading name of Channel Express (Air Services) Ltd which has been flying commercial aircraft for over 25 years. Originally operating up to 14 Dart Herald aircraft, the company introduced, during the 1990s, Lockheed Electras, Airbus A300B4 “Eurofreighters” and in 2001, Boeing 737-300s. Charter passenger operations started in 2001, offering high quality corporate and specialist services.

Jet2.com commenced operations in February 2003, flying daily from Leeds Bradford International Airport, to and from Amsterdam. During 2003 scheduled flights were operated to 7 European business, city break and sun destinations, carrying more than 360,000 passengers. For 2004/5, in response to customer demand, our choice of destinations has widened. Now 9 Boeing 737-300 aircraft, based at Leeds Bradford Airport, all of which are owned by the company, fly to 14 top destinations; Alicante, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Belfast, Faro, Geneva, Ibiza, Malaga, Murcia, Nice, Palma, Paris, Prague and Venice. From Belfast International Airport we also fly to Prague, Barcelona and to Leeds Bradford.

On 29th September 2004, Jet2.com announced its second base, Manchester Airport. In doing so Jet2.com unveiled the largest ever single commitment made to Manchester Airport by any scheduled airline.

Daily flights to Budapest, Faro, Geneva, Pisa, Malaga, Murcia, Nice, Venice and Valencia went on sale online on 29th September 2004. London Gatwick three times a day and daily flights to Alicante were made available on the 16th November 2004. The inaugural Jet2.com flights from Manchester Airport will take off to Budapest on 1st December 2004, followed by flights to Murcia the following day, 2nd December 2004. Flights to Geneva will commence (for the start of the ski season) on 18th December 2004. Beginning February 2005 London Gatwick and Malaga flights take off. Services to Faro, Nice, Valencia and Venice will commence on 19th March 2005, followed by flights to Alicante and Pisa, which will start on 27th March and 26th May 2005 respectively.

In terms of e-commerce, the first seats went on sale online in November 2002. Now 98% of seats are currently booked on-line through our dedicated website, which also offers links for the sale of very competitively priced insurance, car hire, hotels, holiday villas, airport transfers and travel exchange.
